It is a “Strawman” that Kevin specifically created to cast an illusion on. Using a strawman makes it easier to keep up an illusion over prolonged periods. Hades, however, stripped off a layer of illusion – revealing the dummy and Kevin’s true location.
Kevin’s problem is he is trying to win, rather than train. Realistically if Hades was actually fighting him Kevin could chip away with annoyances like this forever and not do him any serious damage.
That is not the object of the exercise though – he is supposed to be getting his hands dirty and really trying but instead he is using his stock of misdirection, illusion and lateral thinking.
Ultimately, he is losing by not truly participating
