I think it should be “partake in”. “Partake of” is grammatically correct, but has a different meaning afaik.
Other than that, wait a minute, I need to go a few pages back to check what we actually saw of Kevin’s training session.
I’ve got it! I’ll hold an on-the-move pie eating contest! Contestants will have to eat the most pies while running away from dragons! If you start slowing down, either way you’re out. If you slow down eating pies, you’ll have a hard time catching up. If you slow down running, you won’t get a chance to catch back up because the dragons eat you!
