I have some mixed news concerning My Unlife, hopefully it will be well received.
Starting next week, we will be dropping the “Real Cast” aspect of My Unlife, opting instead for an art style based on a modified Hell Inc/failytales. I am a huge fan of what Pici does for that so I am looking forward to this change. Ultimately we made it for two reasons:
– Managing a real life cast is hard. We don’t pay and our cast is entirely comprised of well wishers and fans.
– Updating once a week sucks. It means the story moves forward at a glacial pace.
This leads to the other piece of My Unlife news. As we are moving to a simpler art style starting next Tuesday we are changing the release schedule accordingly to three times a week – Tues, Thurs, Sun. So far, My Unlife has not caught anywhere near the attention of Hell Inc or failytales – with this move maybe we can change that.
Hmm. On one hand, I thought it was cool that you invited people to play parts in the comic. On the other hand, my character has already been decapitated, so I doubt I’d be called back for the reunion episode. It’s all about me, you see.
Seriously though, I like the art as it is now, but I also love Pici’s simpler art style, so if simplifying things makes it easier for you to move the story along, I’m all for it. A week is too long to wait for the next strip. I look forward to these changes.
